What makes a good UK slot site
The best slot sites in the UK share a few things. They're licensed by the Gambling Commission, they carry a broad range of slots from established studios, they show each game's return to player (RTP) in the game rules, and they have a welcome offer that actually works on slots. Beyond that, it's about what you like: some players want the biggest library, some want no-wagering spins and some want a smooth mobile app.
We rank the five casinos above for slots players on the same method we use everywhere: offer value first, then wagering, then clarity of terms, then the casino itself. Read our full rating method.
UK slot rules you should know
Stake limits
Online slots in Great Britain have a maximum stake per spin: £5 for players aged 25 and over, and £2 for players aged 18 to 24. The limits apply at every licensed casino and cover all online slots, but not other casino games such as roulette or blackjack. Our stake limits guide explains how they work.
Bonus buy features aren't offered
Some slots sold abroad let players pay to jump straight to a bonus round. That feature isn't offered to UK players; our bonus buy explainer covers why.
Age and identity checks come first
UK casinos must verify your age and identity before you can deposit or play, including demo play on their own sites.
RTP and volatility, explained simply
RTP (return to player) is the share of all money staked on a slot that it pays back over a very large number of spins. A slot with 96% RTP pays back £96 for every £100 staked, on average, across millions of spins. In a single session anything can happen, and the casino's edge is the remaining 4%.
Volatility describes how a slot pays. Low-volatility slots pay small wins often; high-volatility slots pay less often but can pay more when they do. Neither changes the RTP. Choose the style that suits your budget: high volatility can burn through a small balance quickly.
Many slots are released with several RTP settings, and casinos choose which one to run. Always check the game's rules or info screen for the RTP at the casino you're using.
Slot welcome offers compared
Three of our slot sites give free spins with no wagering on winnings: Ladbrokes (up to 500 spins), Coral (100 spins) and PlayOJO (spins on Big Bass Bonanza). The other two give a deposit match for slots: Casumo (50% up to £100) and 10Bet (100% up to £25), both with 10x wagering. Compare them all on our free spins page or our slots welcome bonus guide.

Types of online slots
- Classic and fruit slots: three reels, simple paylines, often low volatility.
- Video slots: five or more reels with free spins rounds, multipliers and bonus games. Most new releases are video slots.
- Megaways and other "ways" slots: the number of ways to win changes on every spin.
- Jackpot slots: part of each stake feeds a jackpot, which usually means a lower base-game RTP.
- Branded slots: licensed themes from TV shows, films and games.
Playing slots on mobile
All five slot sites work in a mobile browser, and some have apps in the App Store and Google Play; compare them on our mobile casinos page. Want to learn a game first? Read about free slots and demo play and our RTP and volatility guide. Slots are designed for phones now, so most games play in portrait or landscape. If you play on mobile, set your deposit limit in the app as well as on desktop, as it applies across your account.
Keep slots fun
Slots are fast, and a session can run longer than you meant it to. Use reality checks and time limits, set a deposit limit before you start, and stop when you've spent your budget. If you need support, call the National Gambling Helpline free on 0808 8020 133 or visit our responsible gambling page.
How we check every offer
We read each casino's own promotion page and full terms, then record the qualifying stake, spin value, eligible games, deadlines and wagering. We confirm the operator's licence on the UK Gambling Commission register, and we recheck every offer at least once a month and whenever a casino changes it. If a detail can't be confirmed, we leave it out or tell you to check the casino's terms rather than guess. Read the full method on our how we rate page.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best slot site in the UK?
For new players, Ladbrokes has the biggest slots welcome offer on our list, with up to 500 no-wagering free spins for a £10 stake. PlayOJO is best if you want no wagering on any offer.
How much can I bet on a slot in the UK?
Up to £5 a spin if you're 25 or over, and up to £2 a spin if you're 18 to 24.
What is a good RTP for a slot?
Many modern slots run at around 94% to 97%. Higher is better for the player over the long run, but RTP doesn't predict a single session.
Can I play slots for free?
Some casinos offer demo play after you've verified your age and identity. Demo play doesn't win real money.
Are online slots rigged?
UK-licensed slots must be independently tested to meet the Gambling Commission's technical standards, and their RTP must be stated in the game rules.
